little trees

This is one of those times of wondering whether to continue or to stop. I love the yarn (Isager Alpaca 2—light DK alpaca and merino) but am not as happy with the little tree pattern which is a poor riff on the PurlSoho hat made earlier. I'm going to keep going because it is after all just a little hat. A few simpler striped hats will be my next endeavor—a little color play, not too fussy, with really nice yarn appeals to me.

another cupcake

The pattern I used for this and the earlier lemon cupcake calls for turning the work inside out and adding a crocheted picot edge to the white "icing" as well as a stem to the crocheted cherry on top. I like it simpler. This is baby cashmerino on US7 needles. I think the needles were a bit big for the yarn I chose.

tunic

This is the Pickles tunic to match the bonnet I made earlier. It's made with Cashmerino on US3 needles and I admit it took me many tries to get the yoke to work. I love the little pink button that closes the back.

recycled denim

This one is knit with recycled denim cotton. I made a little crocheted ball for the top.

We just returned from a weekend on the Rappahannock River where the wedding party was young and beautiful and happy and the evening weather cool and refreshing; everything about it just blissful to me.

bonnet

This sugar sweet bonnet is from a pattern I got from Pickles. I am attempting the matching tunic. It's for a newborn—teeny tiny. I am using Baby Cashmerino on US3 needles.

not jackson pollock

But still … pretty cool. This is the sidewalk in front of Beta Bridge, which gets painted at least once a week.
